Period; Abydos; Ground Floor, Hall 43 These two vessels were discovered in King Khasekhemwy’s tomb at Abydos. The top of each is covered with a thin layer of gold leaf, sealing the vessel. They represent vessels used in life, but were intended to last for eternity and so were made from materials that would not degrade over time.
